Software Developer Co-Op

Summary

Qoherent is looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and self-driven student to join us as a Software Development Co-op for the May - August 2026 semester. This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days on-site per week, combining remote flexibility with in-person collaboration in downtown Toronto.

This position is offered through the SWPP program, and successful internships will be considered for full-time positions upon graduation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to dataset and model production pipelines that power our core products
• Contribute to development of gui elements of our web-based products
• Support research and development projects as needed
• Develop utilities and tooling in support of company projects
• Create demonstrations and demonstration collaterals of our software
• Contribute to general software development, research, and IP development tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Required

• Currently enrolled in Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science program (any year)
• Hands-on experience with Python and scientific libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Plotly, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with web development technologies including Go, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments and bash scripting
• Strong knowledge of version control (Git/GitHub) and open-source software
• Eligible for the SWPP Program

Desired

• Experience with RF or audio signal processing theory
• Experience with design tools such as MATLAB, GNU Radio, or C/C++
• Familiarity with AI/ML principles
• Familiarity with machine learning tools (PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLOps frameworks)
• Familiarity with Docker
• Familiarity with signal processing theory (FFT, filters, linearity, noise, modulation)
